Elderhostel is the nation’s first and the world’s largest
non-profit educational and travel organization for older adults –
serving nearly 160,000 older adults each year with nearly 8,000 programs
in more than 90 countries. All of our programs share four unique attributes
- educational excellence, comfortable accommodations and delicious meals,
extraordinary value, and the warm camaraderie of fellow Elderhostelers.
We thank you for choosing Elderhostel to have the learning adventure of
a lifetime.
1. Every Elderhostel program will be a rich educational experience.
You will find programs that meet your interests, activity level, budget,
schedule, and lifestyle. Our expert instructors, experienced group leaders,
and helpful staff create extraordinary experiences by sharing stimulating
information, leading fascinating field trips and cultural excursions,
and by taking care of details. As a result, our programs excite one’s
mind and enrich one’s life.
2. You will learn in the warm company of interesting
people who share your interests and your spirit.
Whether you attend by yourself, with a spouse, a friend, or children
or grandchildren, the camaraderie of fellow Elderhostelers will welcome
you as you share common interests, discoveries, and adventures. You
may even make new, lifelong friends. Our participants come from every
walk of life to learn together, to exchange ideas, and to explore the
world. Lively discussions with faculty and fellow participants illuminate
issues and broaden horizons.
3. You will find thousands of ways to explore your world.
Whether you want to stay close to home or venture around the world,
you will find a rewarding educational adventure that opens you up to
new ideas and takes you places you’ve never been and will never
forget. From Ayers Rock and the Alps to Zola and zoology, Elderhostel
offers a breadth and variety of programs and locations beyond any college
catalog.
4. Every program will be an exceptional value.
You bring an inquiring mind and an adventurous spirit, and we will take
care of the rest. Unlike tourist travel or commercial tours, Elderhostel
educational programs are all-inclusive. There are no hidden expenses.
In addition to accommodations, we include lectures, field trips, cultural
excursions, gratuities, medical or insurance coverage, and meals. To
facilitate your discovery of local culture on a program, some meals
may be excluded to allow you to explore local cafes and restaurants
on your own, but this information is available in every program’s
description on the website and in our catalogs. We provide high-quality
experiences with a high level of service at an extraordinary value.
